[ome-users] Java upgrade causing OMERO connection failure

Dear All,

We are aware that the new Java 8 update* has blocked essential OMERO workflows; once you upgrade, all OMERO clients except OMERO.web cannot connect to an OMERO.server, regardless of the Java version of the server (as reported on https://www.openmicroscopy.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7856).

This affects both the 5.1.x and the 5.0.x releases of OMERO.

We are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.
