Hi Niko
I'm not aware of any comparisons between OpenJDK and Oracle, though if anyone else in the community has looked into it I'm sure they'll speak up.
We generally recommend OpenJDK because it's included in the standard Linux distribution repos (http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero5.2/sysadmins/unix/server-centos7-ice36.html) and it's what we do most of our testing with.

Dear all,
while planning the migration of our OMERO installation to a new machine
(and a new OS version), we were wondering if there is any argument for
using one or the other from OpenJDK or Oracle's Java flavour?
Are there differences in performance?
Thanks a lot,
~Niko
