Oliver,

we tracked down the setArchiveImage problem, which got written up as:

 http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/omero/ticket/2623

which is now fixed on the Beta4.2 branch as well as trunk. If you are using ImportCandidates as well as ImportConfig and ImportLibrary, then archiving should work as expected.
