Dear All,

We thought you may be interested to see what some of the work in the OME consortium is enabling. The JCB DataViewer is a customised version of OMERO 4.4, run by OME’s commercial arm, Glencoe Software, and has just been used to publish a new High Content Screening (HCS) dataset. The publishing of this rich dataset would not be possible without the great work of the entire OME Consortium.

The JCB DataViewer builds atop of both the OMERO.server and OMERO.web infrastructures, utilising the following technologies extensively:

* OMERO.tables - http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/developers/Tables.html
* OMERO.search and custom bridges - http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/developers/Modules/Search/Bridges.html
* OMERO.web plugins (documentation still in development)

The latest dataset is a screen for novel factors involved in building nuclear bodies. The paper "Whole-genome screening identifies proteins localized to distinct nuclear bodies" (Fong et al) and the dataset, comprised of nearly a quarter of a million multi-dimensional images and approximately 1.3 Terabytes of data, are available here:

Happy browsing,

The OME Team
