Hello Marek,

The best answer to your question is that until OMERO 4.4.0 is released you will need to compile Ice (for C++ and Python) and set up your environment correctly in order to use Ubuntu 12.04. OMERO 4.3.4 does not support Ice 3.4, which will likely be the default Ice version included in Ubuntu 12.04. It is unlikely that OMERO 4.4.0 will be released before the scheduled Ubuntu 12.04 final release date of April 26th.

Until OMERO 4.4.0 is released we suggest, for system administrator ease, the use of Ubuntu 10.04 if the use of Ubuntu is required or preferred.
