[ome-users] apache2 error

Hi,
I using omero server 4.4.0.RC1-DEV-ice34 compiled from sources, on Ubuntu 12.04

I have an PHP startup error in apache2 log error :
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/IcePHP.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626/IcePHP.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

IcePHP.so is located in the folder /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs and not in /usr/lib/php5/20090626. However, if I do a link of IcePHP.so to /usr/lib/php5/20090626, that doesn’t change.

Hi Philippe,

The issue you are encountering was caused by the ZeroC Ice make tool putting libraries in wrong folders. There is already a bug filed against the Ubuntu bug tracking system: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zeroc-ice/+bug/996428

I have tried a clean install of Apache, PHP and the php-zeroc-ice package, but wasn't able to get the same error as you. Ice also reports fine on "phpinfo()" and "php -v".

I would suggest trying "apt-get remove --purge php-zeroc-ice".
