  Dear all,
I'm trying to help a new group installing OMERO.
They are a public institution, so they are constrained as the sw
platform to use.
They must use SLES11. This distribution comes with ICE 3.4.1 that
unfortunately cannot be used with
OMERO 4.2.
Trying to instead install ICE 3.3.1 gives the following error starting
OMERO (after installing Ice base, python, java):
omero at svv00059 <mailto:omero at svv00059>:~> bin/omero admin start
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "bin/omero", line 125, in <module>
     import omero.cli
   File "/opt/OMERO.server-Beta-4.2.0/lib/python/omero/cli.py", line 42,
in <module>
     from omero.util.concurrency import get_event
   File
"/opt/OMERO.server-Beta-4.2.0/lib/python/omero/util/__init__.py", line
11, in <module>
     import Ice
   File "/usr/lib64/python2.4/site-packages/Ice/Ice.py", line 197, in
<module>
     import Ice_Locator_ice
   File "/usr/lib64/python2.4/site-packages/Ice/Ice_Locator_ice.py",
line 160, in <module>
     class LocatorPrx(Ice.ObjectPrx):
TypeError: Error when calling the metaclass bases
     type 'IcePy.ObjectPrx' is not an acceptable base type
Segmentation fault

What I'm missing?
Or, better, is there any chance that 4.2 can use Ice 3.4.1?
Thanks for your help!
                                                 mario
