Hi Steve,

it looks like you have spent much time and effort making file readers
for image SXM
to read many scanning microscopy file formats:

<snip>
Image SXM is a version of the public domain image analysis software
NIH Image that has been extended to handle the loading, display and
analysis of scanning microscope images. Image SXM supports SAM, SCM,
SEM, SFM, SLM, SNOM, SPM and STM images from the following systems:

Asylum Research MFP-3D
Burleigh InstrumentsDigital Instruments NanoScope IIDigital
Instruments NanoScope III/IVDME RasterscopeDME Surface Data FileGatan

In addition, the following non-SXM file formats are also supported:
AVIBio-RadBMP

Omicron SPA-LEEDPDSFPDSS
Pentax PEFPhilips APDSBIG CCD
SM-CameraSPECTarga TGA

</snip>

THe LOCI team are developing a java library called bio-formats that
aims to read as many image file types as possible, for use in projects
like
imageJ (and thus Fiji), Open Microscroscopy Environment (OME), and
BioImageXD:

http://www.bioimagexd.net 	BioImageXD
http://pacific.mpi-cbg.de FIJI - is just ImageJ (Batteries Included)
http://www.openmicroscopy.org  OME

OME and loci are now looking to expand their data model into electron
microscopy,
and scanning probe microscopy....

I'm sure they could learn a great deal from you r experience.

I just wondered if you might be interested....

cheers

Dan
