[ome-users] OME-XML Major Version Release

Hello,

The Open Microscopy Environment are pleased to announce a major  
update to the OME-XML schema files. These files provide the  
authoritative description of the OME Data Model.

This is a major (breaking) version release that is NOT backwardly  
compatible with files created for the June 2007 release or September  
2007 release.

As a major release it makes use of a new namespace:
http://www.openmicroscopy.org/Schemas/OME/2008-02/

Key changes made with this release include:
- A unique identifier scheme to support multi file images.
- Preliminary support for hashes of plane data.
- Changes to the Description element.
