Thanks for the comments.
The bugs you noticed and reported using the released version available
on the website
 have now been fixed. 

A "Remove" action doesn't delete the image.
It just removes the link between the image and the dataset
(or dataset-project etc)

Thumbnails are generated each time the insight requests them, no caching
client for the moment.
A thumbnail is generated using the rendering settings associated to the
pixels set for a given user.
