[ome-devel] data archiving options

Hi,

Supposedly in OME we have some old projects, we want to keep the record but
nobody is likely to access these projects in foreseeable future.

One straight forward thinking is to keep project records in OME database
but relocate images on disk to somewhere else such as tape. The benefit for
doing this is to free up expensive enterprise storage space (which is raid
6 like).

However, if we do this, when people trying to access these old projects (if
it is happens), OME will have trouble to load these old images unless we
manually restore images from tape.

I wonder what would be you opinion on this.
