Hi All-

Mike Rossner, Managing Editor of the Journal of Cell Biology, will  
give a seminar tomorrow, March 14 at 1pm, about the manipulation of  
images in scientific papers.  THIS IS AN AMAZING TALK!  Mike talks  
about the manipulations that they see at the JCB and the techniques  
the editorial staff use to detect them.  You'll be amazed at how  
frequently manuscripts are returned to authors-- before review-- to  
correct obvious manipulations.  Mike is a great speaker, and he does  
a great job of describing what is and isn't "acceptable" image  
manipulation.

Make sure you see this-- it's certainly worthing thinking about and  
discussing.
