Dear All,
I've had a number of people come see me today who are having problems
either acquiring or processing data due to a lack of space on the
hard drives of the workstations and acquisition computers. Please
could ALL of you do me a big favour and check your home directory on
any microscope or workstation you have ever used and -
1. move the data to your home directory on Zeus
2. delete this data and any core dumps (they're the files that look
like an acid house smiley with a hangover) from your directory on the
local hard drive
3. empty the trash
I'm at a workshop in London on Monday, so it would be a really lovely
surprise to come back on Tuesday to find you have all done this.
Honestly, it will only take you 5 minutes (unless you're a really big
offender, of course, in which case you should just be grateful Chris
hasn't deleted it for you). If you don't know how to do this, please
ask Calum (x8751) to help you. I've had a quick look on the PCs and
think it's fair to say that pretty well all of you have something
somewhere, so don't think this doesn't concern you. Please also bear
in mind that if you lent your account details to someone else, they
may have left stuff in your directory that you don't know about.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
