Hi Scott

To be sure that server is on could you please type on admin console:
 >>> server state Web

I assume you could access the http://localhost:8000/webadmin/ then it  
might be a different problem with connection between application and  
OMERO.server.
Could you please also send me to the private OMEROweb.log files from  
omerodir/var/log.
