I assume these are LDAP users who are being created on the fly? If so, there's a ticket for that feature

It's certainly possible to extend the LDAP plugin yourself if it's more pressing. If these users aren't
LDAP-based, how are they being created?

> Background is that we need to do the group assignment manually and we've already had a couple of users that just started using OMERO without informing us, no matter what we told them (or why). So I thought it might just come in handy to get an email upon someone logging in for the first time.
