I believe this was before that functionality existed in OMERO (way back at 5.0.x), and/or I needed to script something server side (possibly to do with notification emails).

Hi Dave
I remembering seeing someone on the OME forums who had made something
similar. I am curious, OMERO already gives usage stats per group and
user. Why don't you use it?
