[ome-users] Release of OME Files C++ 0.1.1

OME Files is a reference implementation of the OME Data Model and
OME-TIFF file format for the storage and interchange of biological
imaging data and metadata.  It provides support for:

• The OME Data Model (model objects, metadatastore, XSL transforms and
XML validation)
• OME-TIFF reader
• OME-TIFF writer

The focus of this release is minor bugfixing following the major changes
made in the recent 0.1.0 release.

Major changes in this release include:

• Handling transform failure gracefully

Downloads
=========

The software release is available one the OME Files C++ 0.1.1 download
page (http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/ome-files-cpp/0.1.1/).  This
page includes links to the individual repositories and source releases,
as well as the documentation and binary builds of the collection for
several common platforms, including Windows, Linux and MacOS X.

• Add support for applying patch files
• Add patch and tofrodos packages to allow transparent patching on Windows
• Update Xalan patches to include Debian patches to avoid segfault on
transform failure due to a bug in Xalan
•Package changes:
   • ome-common 5.2.0: Updated package
   • ome-files 0.1.1: Updated
   • ome-xml 5.2.0-m3: Updated (was bioformats)
   • switch from static files to patches, and include relevant Debian
patches

Future changes
==============

The board for 0.2.0 (https://trello.com/b/kXhxI5Nx/ome-files-c-0-2-0)
outlines planned changes over the next few weeks, and includes:

OME XML

• 2015-01 model support (includes unit conversion support)

OME Files

• documentation rework, including updates for the new CMake options for
building and the supported versions of all components
• porting of recent Java fixes to the OME-TIFF reader and writer

Super-Build

• VS2015 support
• building and packaging of Sphinx documentation
• updating of the set of platforms binary builds are provided for

Errata
======

Support for building on Windows with msbuild is currently
non-functional; please use Ninja for the time being.
