[ome-users] Release of OMERO 4.4.8

Dear All,

We are releasing OMERO 4.4.8 today to fix two specific issues:


  *   a problem with the OMERO.insight client for Linux [1]
  *   image thumbnails not loading for Screens/Plates in Private/Read-Only groups in OMERO.web [2]

You only need to upgrade if you are an OMERO.insight user on Linux or you are using OMERO.web to view HCS data in Private or Read-Only groups.

As always, the software is available from OMERO Downloads. http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/products/omero/downloads

For information on the upgrade from OMERO 4.3 to 4.4, see the upgrade guide for system administrators. http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/sysadmins/server-upgrade.html

If you have not upgraded from OMERO 4.3 to 4.4 yet, then please upgrade directly to 4.4.8 as explained on the upgrade page linked above.

Please note - Bio-Formats 4.4.8 is also being released today to keep the version numbers in sync. However, there are no code changes from 4.4.7 and you do not need to upgrade.
