[ome-users] OMERO feedback list

Dear OMERO-dev team,

 

we’ve been testing OMERO in our lab and asked our users for feedback.

The result is the feedback list at the end of this mail.

 

The most critical point for us are the read-/write rights (see issue #1).

We would like to open our OMERO server also for other groups at

Homburg / Saarbruecken, but as long as everyone can see everybody’s

data, this is a bit risky.

 

If you have any questions about the feedback list, don’t hesitate to ask – 

I’ll forward your questions to the persons in brackets.

OMERO-Feedback List (omero-Beta-3.0.1)

 

1. Read-/Write-rights (olli) 

- Each user within one group can view each other user's images

- Even users from different groups can view other user's images

=> we need the opportunity to define who can view who's images

(on the user's side as well as on the admin's side); having this

opportunity on the project-level would be fine.

 

2. OMERO.”exporter” (olli)

- We can import images into OMERO, but how can we get images out of the
OMERO system?

  ("save as" in OMERO.insight only allows for saving the actual plane, not
the whole z-stack)

  (we only can retrieve our images if we checked the “archive”-box within
OMERO.importer,

   which the typical user might typically forget)

=> we need the opportunity to get our complete images from OMERO.insight,
not just the currently

   dispayed plane (.tiff would be fine).

 

3. OMERO.insight (olli)

- How can I view a comment, which has been attached to an image? Maybe this
is a usability problem, because

I would expect the comment inside the comment-box (which is empty - but I
can enter a comment here, which

then disappears ...)

 

4. OMERO Measurement (Aline)

- select all slides would be an helpful option

- connection of endpoints and a line are not conserved if you expand it to
different timepoints or z-Slices

 

5. OMERO.importer (Aline)

- if the import process failed -> how can these files be removed

 

6. Omero.insight (Martin)

- I have some problems with my pictures (bmp). So importing is fine but the
picture quality you see in Omero.insight is very 

bad and it multiplies the pictures in the view mode. Conclusion: bad quality
of the pictures and incorrect displaying!
