Hello,

The Open Microscopy Environment are pleased to announce a minor
update to the OME-XML schema files. These files provide the
authoritative description of the OME Data Model.

This is a minor (non-breaking) version release and it fully
backwardly compatible with files created for the June 2007 release.

Full details of the changes made can be found at
http://www.ome-xml.org/wiki/ChangesForSeptember2007

Key changes made with this release include:
- Parts of the Instrument object are now optional
- Parts of Experimenter are now optional
- Changes to Regex and XML Imports to improve compatibility with parsers

The next planned major (breaking) release is scheduled for November
2007.
Full details of the current tasks for this can be found at
http://www.ome-xml.org/milestone/November%202007%20Schema%20Release

Thank you to everyone who provide input to these changes and we would
welcome your suggestions for further improvements.
Your comment can be emailed to us or added as tickets at
http://www.ome-xml.org/

Thanks,

Andrew
