[ome-users] installing OME v.2.6.0 on Fedora Core 6 or Fedora 7 ?

Jerry,

Yes OME can easily be installed on Fedora Core 6 (haven't tried Core 7).
We use Core 6 and it recently has become the recommended version for  
OME  (http://www.openmicroscopy.org.uk/install/redhat.html).

One thing to keep in mind is that Core 4 & 6 typically run different  
versions of Postgres DB. So you'll want to make a backup of OME's  
database before doing your upgrade.

You'll want to do something like this:
	
(1) sudo ome data backup
(2) upgrade Core 4 or install from scratch Core 6
(3) re-install OME v2.6.0 on Core 6
(4) sudo ome data restore
