Hi,
Your project setup should be working with the loci_tools jar (bioformats_package from https://www.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats/downloads/ will also work). Adding it to your Eclipse project will work just fine or if you prefer to use Maven or Gradle you can also add the Bio-Formats dependency there (https://docs.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats/5.8.2/developers/java-library.html). At this point it is probably best if I can test the file to see what the differences between the various files are. You should receive a separate link with details on how to transfer the file.
With Thanks,
David Gault

Hi David,
I created a new .java class file with exactly your code changing only the out and in paths but I still have the same issue. Maybe my lifs files are different in some way? I know there are 2 versions of .lif projects and these are version 2, although I can open them perfectly in fiji with bioformats... by the way, for introducing the bioformat api, I just added into my java project in Eclipse the loci_tools.jar and linked it as an internal jar (I've uploaded to 5.8.2 but I am still getting the same issue). Should I add anything extra into my project?
Let me know if you need the .lif project and the folder where to upload it and I will upload it ASAP.
Thanks a lot!
