[ome-devel] Developer preview release of OMERO & Bio-Formats 5.1.0-m3

Dear All,

Just in time for our festive break, OMERO and Bio-Formats version 5.1.0-m3 are now public, see http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/5.1.0-m3/
and
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats/5.1.0-m3/

This is the third of what will now be four development milestones that we're releasing in the lead up to 5.1.0. It is intended as a preview of the major and ongoing API and model changes. The code is definitely use at your own risk and is only intended as a developer preview to help you update your code before the final release Q1/2015.

Changes affecting developers include:

  *   implementation of units in the OMERO clients
  *   conversions between units
  *   OMERO.web updates
  *   server-side Graph work to improve speed for moving and deleting
  *   OMERO.insight bug-fixes especially for ROIs

Further changes are planned in milestone 4 (see https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/milestone/5.1.0-m4) so the API and Model should not be considered stable at this stage. Also note that the changes are not fully documented as yet.
