[ome-devel] Beta4 Release and Documentation

Dear All-

We are moving towards our release of Beta4, and things are going  
pretty well.  Most of the code is frozen, and we have started our  
internal testing.  We hope to be releasing on-time, or at worst 7-10  
days late.

Please note that the team has been working very hard on Beta4, and  
those of you who follow the development will know it is a big change.   
Among other things, we'll move all of our clients over to ICE  
remoting, we'll deliver the first release of OMERO.web and a first  
taste of OMERO.fs, and much more.

Obviously, the team has been working very hard.  Many of you depend on  
our docs, (e.g., http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/omero/wiki/ServerDesign) 
.  We take these quite seriously, and want to insure that they are  
brought up-to-date as quickly as possible.  Please realise that even  
though we have a very talented and industrious team, getting all the  
work done for a big release has to come first, and the docs will  
follow over the following few weeks.  Thus there will be an interval  
of 2-4 weeks where the screencast videos (http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/videos 
) and the various Trac wiki's will be updated, so that any single  
resource might be out of date.  Once the release is out, this will be  
our focus.  We ask that you bear with us-- there's alot to do, but  
we'll get it done, one step at a time.  If you have any specific  
questions, please do write these lists, and we will address things as  
quickly as we can.
