These are the expected responses from testing OMEIS during the
installation.

This is a core dump (not good).
When you say "linux system", what kind do you mean?
Throwing out a wild guess here, but there could be a compiler
mismatch, which is the latest loveliness going around in linux-land.
OMEIS is compiled from source, but its linked against libraries that
may have been compiled with a different compiler. I'm thinking
specifically of the XML libraries since OMEIS lived long enough to
respond with the correct error condition during testing, but then
failed when reading an XML file. Could be non-XML related though.
Its clearly OS-related. We hammer OMEIS pretty mercilessly and
obviously track down and fix every core dump.
