Hi Melissa
There is a way to do this programatically with just a module, but no  
way to execute a chain on a single image without a dataset.
It should be possible as long as your chain doesn't produce Dataset- 
granularity attributes - even if its a matter of creating a temporary  
"fake" dataset just to conform with the AE API (which is essentially  
"execute this chain against this dataset").
Unfortunately, there's no API to do that (yet?)
