We recently wrote a paper on the web interface for an upcoming
conference [1]. The paper describes the architecture, intent, and
direction. It would be useful if OME users could read over the attached
paper and give their impressions. Is it approaching what you need?
Jason has agreed to allot some time at the upcoming users meeting to
this topic.

The focus of the paper is tools to design simple enumerative
vocabularies (CategoryGroups), then annotate, display, and search with
those vocabularies. That is basically the work Arpun Nagaraja did last
summer. Our ongoing work is implementing that functionality for more
structured annotations (Semantic Types).

Requests to date that are not covered by the work in the paper
Simple documented examples for developers (partially covered in the
paper)
Usability improvements to make things easier for the average user
	Annotating many images at once
	Tools for designing Semantic Types

It would be useful for us hear what your highest priorities are. That
will help us decide how much work to put into generalizing the
structured annotations framework vs. making the existing components
easier to use. Or perhaps the existing framework is usable, but needs
better documentation.

Thank you for comments,
Josiah Johnston
