Dear All,

As Sam mentioned in his email last week, the Imaging facility Equipment
will be bookable via a new calendaring system from March 3rd.
This means that from Monday onwards, all instrument bookings must be
made using the new system. You will need your normal (lifesci) login to
access the calendar:-
  https://bumblebee.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/bumblebee/

There are links to this page from the CAST Light and Electron
Microscopy Equipment page. We have also provided an overview and how to
guide:-

http://www.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/cast/light-and-electron-microscopy/booking-equipment

On the equipment page linked above, you can also find an Equipment Status
Table, which includes information on any known faults affecting the
microscopes.
This is updated within half an hour of a fault being reported or a
microscope
being repaired. The table will be updated to link to instrument
configuration
information in the near future.

Thank you to those of you who have already returned registration / laser
safety
forms. By the end of the week you will be able to book microscopes on the
new
calendar. We will transfer existing bookings up to and including the 14th
of March
from the old system to the new one.

We would be grateful if you could take a moment to remind yourselves of the
booking rules and etiquette:

Booking Rules
=============

1. On most instruments you can book up to 2 weeks in advance. The exception
is the CLSM/MPLSM on the 2nd floor which can be booked further in advance
for mouse work.

2.You must not book more than 2 week days per week (i.e. Monday to Friday)
or 2 microscopes simultaneously (Monday to Friday) without permission.

3. Bookings can be cancelled at 1 hour's notice. Be considerate to your
colleagues and do not make speculative bookings - under the new calendar we
will be able to review cancellations, so it will be obvious if anyone is
doing this.

4. Our aim is to strike a balance between providing fair access to all of
you
whilst supporting complex or non-standard experiments. If you have any
questions or special requirements, please contact a member of the facility
staff so that we can help you.

Best Regards,

Graeme
