Dear All-

Sorry for sounding like a parrot, but this is really really important.

We are in the process of renewing support for the LMF systems, and a significant part of that suppport comes from the Wellcome Trust. Demonstrating use across the College if a key part of this. If continueed access to these resources isn't incentive enough, then consider Sam's last point-- getting charged for the time you used, instead of the time we think you might have used.

Thanks to all.

Cheers,

Jason

Dear All,

Can I please remind you to fill in the log books when you use a
microscope. This is really important for a number of reasons including

- logging faults, identifying component wear
- logging hours and justifying funding
- keeping on top of lamp hours
- billing you for the time you use rather than having to make up a
(much bigger) number for ourselves

To give an example, of the last 21 sessions booked on the BioRad, only
4 were logged in the log book. As we come to do the monthly figures
for all of the other microscopes, I'm hoping this turns out to be an
uncharacteristic and isolated blip in an otherwise unblemished round
of log book administration. I say "we" - Calum is the one charged
with doing the log books while I drink coffee and occasionally throw
chalk at him. Apparently, by not filling in the log sheets, you're
making his life difficult. That's my job, so please make his life a
little less miserable than it needs to be and fill in the log books
when you use the scopes.

Thanks!
Sam
