Dear All,
I have arranged a workshop for Wednesday 16th November for people
interested in transmitted light techniques, some of which are not
available in the Light Microscopy Facility but may well be present on
the microscopes you have in your own labs or in TC. We will run 2
sessions, morning and afternoon, comprising a brief introductory talk
followed by hands on training in kohler illumination, DIC, phase
contrast and darkfield illumination on a range of Zeiss equipment.
I've asked Ziess to bring a whole range of stuff with them from basic
stereo microscopes through to the higher end Axioscopes so that you
can get your hands on equipment across the whole product range.
This workshop is aimed at absolutely everyone, regardless of
experience, who has an interest in brightfield imaging and contrast
techniques. Space is limited, so please get back to me as soon as you
can if you wish to attend. Timing is approx at the moment, but we
hope to run the morning session from 10am to 12.45pm and the afternoon
session from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Those of you attending the workshop
are welcome to join us for a buffet lunch from 12.45 to 1.30pm, which
will also give you a chance to catch up with the Zeiss area manager,
Mark Montgomery and ask any questions you may have about Zeiss
microscopes or microscopy in general.
Best regards,
Sam
