Dear All,

We are delighted to welcome Markus Posch to the post of Scientific
Officer for OMX and to announce a significant upgrade to the
microscope (please see below for more details). For those of you
who are interested in super resolution light microscopy or super fast
live cell imaging, please do come and speak to Markus to discuss your
experiment. He is based in the Light Microscopy Office (1.05F) and
the OMX room (1.05D) in the central microscope facility or you can
email to omx-admin at dundee.ac.uk

Cheers!
Sam Swift and Jason Swedlow

OMX NEWS:

We are happy to announce that the SULSA superresolution microscope is
now available again for use!
Dr Markus Posch has been appointed as the new OMX Scientific
Officer. Markus has several years of imaging experience in Jason
Swedlow's lab, has used OMX extensively, and has just finished
training with Applied Precision, the manufacturer of OMX.

The OMX superresolution microscope has recently been upgraded with
new hardware and electronics. Most importantly, new software has
been installed, making OMX superresolution microscopy more user
friendly and stable.

The OMX microscope allows exploration of spatial and temporal
elements of biological processes using high resolution fluorescence
microscopy. Two main imaging protocols are available on OMX:
i) ultrahigh resolution of fixed samples by Structured Illumination
ii) very fast, multi-spectral, live-cell 3D imaging

To find out more about the Scottish Universities Life Sciences
Alliance (SULSA) OMX microscope please visit the OMX webpage
http://microscopy.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/omx/ or send email to omx-
admin at dundee.ac.uk

Finally, we want to thank you for your patience. With the upgraded
system and new software in place, we are looking forward to more
great images!!!
