This is just a reminder that from 18:00 today Friday the 30th January
the Zeus system will be going offline so that the final synchronization
to the new system can take place.

It is strongly recommended that you close down any programs with files
open on Zeus before 18:00, otherwise you are likely to have problems. It
would be advisable to turn off your computer before going home for the
weekend.

I have been given assurances that the microscopes have sufficient local
storage to allow any experiments to continue uninterrupted during the
changeover. A lot of work has been put into getting the shutdown down
for the changeover short enough so that collection of experimental data
is unaffected.

Provided nobody else decides to engage in reorganizing of large amounts
of data today, and there are no other hiccups I plan on making the new
system available early Monday morning.

I will make an announcement about the new system and how to connect to
it when it becomes available.

JAB.
