[lm-announce] M floor DV3 - broken

Dear All,

The hard drives on the M floor DV3 ICMIC have crashed.  A replacement  
ICMIC is on order from the States and should be with us next week.  I  
will let you know as soon as this microscope is functional.  The hard  
drives crash when the ICMIC is not properly shut down, e.g. by  
turning off the power strip before turning off the ICMIC.  Please  
ensure you follow the correct shut down procedure, as follows -

-  Check the webcalendar.  If someone is on after you at any point  
during the day, clean the microscope, move your data, log out and  
leave everything else switched on.

-  If nobody is on after you:

1) Clean the microscope, move your data.
2) Turn off the lamp
3) Press the ICMIC button once to shut it down
4) Log out
5) Once the ICMIC has shut down (ie the green light goes out) turn  
off the power strip.
