Dear All,

Please read the following for an update on the status of the LMF
microscopes -

1. Leica SP2 - some of the initialisation files have become
corrupted following the powercut at the weekend. For the time being,
when launching the SP2 acquisition software, please select the
company profile (rather than the personal profile) when prompted.

2. M floor DV3 - the camera has developed a serious fault. This
system is unusable until further notice. The LMF DV3, LMF spectris
and M floor RT can be used for fixed cells instead. Please check
with me if you have not used these microscopes before.

3. M floor spectris - the workstation has developed a serious
fault. This system is unusable until further notice. In the
meantime, the 2nd floor spectris can be used for live cell imaging
while we wait for replacement parts. DO NOT use this microscope for
fixed cell work.

4. If any of you suspect that you have left data on the M floor
spectris or DV3, please let me know and I will try to recover it for
you. Please consider this a reminder of how important it is to back
up your data after EVERY session. Aside from the fact it
disadvantages other users, there will come a day when you lose
valuable data due to an unavoidable system failure.

5. The workstations in 1.05G are filling up again. Please check
that you have not left data on the local hard drives before it is
deleted on Monday morning.

Thanks!
Sam
