Dear All,

Due to the ever increasing number of users in light microscopy and
the volume of orphaned or neglected data on the microscopes and
workstations, Chris and I need to do the following -

1. Delete ALL data on ALL the local light microscopy hard drives.
2. Delete ALL data from and remove the LMFguest01 and 02 accounts on
Zeus
3. Remove data more frequently from the hard drives if it is
clogging the system up (this happens a lot now and it needs to stop).

We will be doing this on Monday June 12th, so you all have about 5
weeks to shift any data you need from these microscopes and
workstations into your Zeus accounts and check that there is no data
you need on the LMFguest accounts either on the microscopes or on Zeus.

In order to move your data from a guest account, simply log in with
your own user name, open the guest folder up and drag the data over
to your own folder. You can view the guest account under your own
log in.

I will be on annual leave from May 18th to June 2nd so please direct
questions to Calum Thomson, Paul Appleton or Chris Allan in my
absence. I can help you before next Thursday or the week I get back.

There are far too many people with stray data on the LMFguest
accounts for us to chase you up personally, but even if you think
you've got nothing on there you really do want to check. There are
backups and data copies from the DVs, workstations, SP2 and BioRad on
here that have since been wiped from those microscopes. Please refer
to my previous emails for a list of data that was left on the
DeltaVision microscopes and workstations; funnily enough it wasn't
all moved the last time I asked :-)

A lot of this stuff is totally ancient and this is just overdue
housekeeping on our part, but there may be some gems in there that
you don't want deleted. The onus is on you guys to save it and
you're not going to get a second chance.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Sam
