Hi Jake,

the first explanation which comes to my mind is, that the user you're logged in with, might not be part of the group you want to import for.

In the import dialog you can unfortunately only see the groups the logged in user is member of, and the users which are member of the currently selected group.

You can either add your "import user" to all groups you want to import for, or you use the command line importer, which doesn't have this restriction (for command line importer see for example: http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/movies/omero-5-2/mov/ OMERO_CLI_import_basic.mp4
and OMERO_CLI_import_advanced.mp4 ).

Regards,

Hi,

I’m yet to upgrade to 5.3.x but I have question regarding 5.2.7/8.

I’ve a lot of users – a couple of hundred, who log into OMERO.

One thing I’ve noticed, for whatever reason, in both the web interface and the uploader (Insight) if I pull the drop down menu for “Upload for” or “Upload As”, I only get a limited number of users. I don’t see ALL the users. I noticed this today when I attempted
to log in and upload some data on behalf of a user using the “Upload for” dropdown in Insight. The user simply was not there. He’s there in the admin tools. He’s added to groups. He’s got a valid UID and can login just fine – but he’s not there in the drop
down menu.

Wondering what I’m missing. This behaviour seems consistent with a lot of other users too. They are definitely valid, active OME users with data in the system, but I can’t do things with these users/interact with them/upload as or for them. What am I missing?
Is this a database extents issue/datatype issue? Maybe nobody ever thought OMERO would have that many users logged into the platform and thus the struct has somehow caught an array bounds issue/too many users for too small a place to hold that many user records?
Just a guess.

Might be something far more simple and something I have inadvertently done!

Thank you and talk shortly.
