Hi Alex,

Firstly apologies for the delayed response time. I believe you are right in that the issue is related to the very large plane count rather than the actual file size. We have sample DV files that > 4GB which we can test but I don’t believe we having
any with such a large image count.

If it would be possible to upload one of the failing files for testing that would certainly be much appreciated. You can submit the sample file to the link below:

Hi again,

Sorry for bothering you again.

But I have just realized, that the problem is probably not connected with the size of my file but with the amount of images in my stack. I can't open image stacks with 35000 images and a total size of 4.8 GB (256x256, STORM mode, OMX-V3) in Fiji with bioformats.
Image stacks with 20000 images but a size of >5 GB, I can open without a problem (same acquisition mode, but 512x512). So I think it is not a problem with the size but with the images in the stack size.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Alex
Betreff: Open DV Files > 4GB in Fiji fails

Hi together,

I have tried to open DV-Files >4GB in Fiji (retrieved from OMX-V3) which fails the entire time. I tried different Fiji versions and different OS (Ubuntu 14.04, Windows 10). But it fails every time. Please find attached the error message.

Do you have any suggestions what I could do?

Thank you!

Best,
Alex
