Hard links across volumes are not supported by Windows, so i had some hopes for symbolic / soft links. Anyhow, i ended up with at least one .symlink file below „ManagedRepository“ pointing to a mapped drive - it „almost works“.

Regards, Sascha.

I'm afraid I can't suggest any workarounds at the moment- DropBox isn't designed to work with network shares.
Dear list,

i am currently trying to import files via CLI. I am able to import a file from a CIFS share, but i am not yet able to import from CIFS using the transfer=ln_s option. The in-place import does work when the file is on a local drive. If you would have any hints
on how to solve this, i’d be grateful. Would using Dropbox be a solution to this?

The command i use is:

.\omero import -- --transfer=ln_s O:\VariousJPGs\celegans_deconvolved.jpg

The error messages are:

[ main] ERROR ome.formats.importer.cli.ErrorHandler - FILE_EXCEPTION: O:\Var
iousJPGs\celegans_deconvolved.jpg
omero.ResourceError: null
…
[ main] ERROR ome.formats.importer.ImportLibrary - Error on import: C:\OM
ERO\ManagedRepository\root_0\2015-01\27\09-33-36.581\celegans_deconvolved.jpg (The system cannot find the path specified
)
omero.ResourceError: null

I have OMERO 5.0.5 installed on a Win 2012 R2.

Thank you! Regards, Sascha.
