<div dir="ltr">Hi Peter,<div><br></div><div style>I briefly investigated using Bio-Formats with <a href="http://IKVM.NET">IKVM.NET</a> in 2007, but concluded that it was too slow for our needs at the time. Even then though, it ostensibly worked, which is pretty impressive for a project of that scope. And of course, six years later now, I have heard that <a href="http://IKVM.NET">IKVM.NET</a> is much improved. You would obviously have to try for yourself, but I am guessing for your needs it might be a good match.</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>As for learning Java, fortunately, C# and Java are extremely similar languages. So hopefully you will not find it too difficult to study the code examples and adapt them for use in your .NET application.</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>If you get something working, we would love to hear back about it! We could post more specific information about .NET & Bio-Formats to the web site for the benefit of others, if you have any tips, pitfalls, etc., that you want to share.</div>

If you haven't already, I would suggest reading this section of the<br>
Bio-Formats documentation:<br>
<br>
<a href="https://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/bio-formats/developers/non-java-code.html" target="_blank">https://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/bio-formats/developers/non-java-code.html</a><br>
<br>
I don't have any direct experience with IKVM, unfortunately, but<br>
hopefully that gives you a place to start.<br>
