Hello Will,

I have been tasked with testing Omero server deployment in our lab and
helping microscopists in the use of clients.

OK, we actually don't need to convert grey images into rgb before
import. But some users usually proceeded in this way to display quickly
with a proper color in ImageJ or other viewer.

The import in this case (grey-levels in green channel) is quite strange
and not related to the image format, see this tif subfile of a LOCI
test image (this time no noise in R and B channels).

Best regards,
Véronique.

I'm not sure what is going on here.

I just tried importing your attached file and I got the same
error as you (bright red channel).

But when I import other jpgs I get no problem.

If I open your jpg and save it as a jpg or tiff (using Preview
on Mac) then it imports OK.

The red and blue channels have a little noise (due to jpg
compression)?

But no bright red channel.

So, I'm not sure why your green image is importing strangely.

I'm just wondering why you are converting grey images into rgb
before import, since you are only using 1 channel of the rgb.

Why don't you simply import the grey-level image?

You can then set the rendering in Insight to change the
appearance of the image if you wish.

Hello,

Please find below the description of our problem during the import of a
RGB image in Omero (4.0.3).

We have generated (with ImageJ) RGB images by putting the original
grey-level image in one of the RGB channels (according fluorochrome),
the two other channels kept blank (greylevel=0).

Importing these RGB images in Omero is working fine when datas are is
in the Red or in the Blue channel.
But in the case where:
Green channel is containing the datas
Red and Blue channels kept blank
then the display of the Red channel is wrong (bright red instead of
black), resulting in a red colored RGB image.

The same occurs with tiff or ome-tif files.
You will find the RGB image attached to this mail.

Thanks for your support,
