I've reproduced your problem and opened a ticket http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/12718
You should receive notifications of any progress, let me know if you'd prefer not to receive them.

I'm afraid I can't suggest any workarounds at the moment- DropBox isn't designed to work with network shares.
