[ome-users] Making permanent and public links in omero?

Hi all.

Probably a simple question and ground that is already covered elsewhere, but, in short…

One of my researchers (who has become a wild advocate of our OME platform since we launched it into our OpenStack cloud locally, recently) has asked for a way to be able to “public” world wide accessible links to her images (or selected images) given the work she has put into putting and ingesting her data into omero. She believes (as do we) that it is our authoritative curated imaging repository now, so when she publishes papers, she’ll be referencing URL’s inside our omero environment, rather than anything else.

To this end:

1. She wants to make permanent, indelible, public URL’s to certain things or images she chooses to make public inside her omero collection. How could she achieve this?
2. Is it done already, and I’m just missing something?
3. We have no problem doing this, as our OME host sits in public address space already - just a question of how one would “publish” public links so that anyone given the links in a paper or a citation could view them.

Thank you for your time, as always~
