[ome-users] OME Users Meeting-- THANK YOU!!!!

Dear All-

Just a quick note to say thanks to all for the great turnout, talks, and discussions at this year's OME Users Meeting.  The OME Team is coming home inspired, tired, and amazed at all the great things happening around the community.

Have a look and be amazed at the scope of activity across the whole community.  We also have alot of great pictures of everyone.  There are some there now, and more to come.  If you have some you'd like to add to the collection let us know where we can get them, and we'll put them up on the page.

One of the themes of the meeting was interoperability, specifically between Bio-Formats, OMERO, ImageJ, and ICY.  You'll see this in the presentations.  We'll be working over the next few weeks to scope the work necessary to take this to the next level, ensuring even more sharing of analysis and processing.   Alot has happened already, and there is more to come.  It's great to see the various parts of the bioimaging community leveraging each other's efforts and tools.  This ultimately means improved tools for bioimaging scientists, and for scientific discovery.  You've all heard lots of people discussing this-- it's great to see real progress in this direction.

Thanks to all the meeting participants-- your hard work, commitment, and willingness to participate in this community help us, and all the members of the community.

A huge thanks to Christiane Pacaud, Nathalie Aulner, Anne Danckaert and Spencer Shorte and the whole team at Institut Pasteur for their effort and help.  They make it look easy (and it certainly is not).  The meeting's success is due to their commitment and hard work.
