[ome-users] Intermittent access problem

Frequently I receive the error: "current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until
end of transaction block" accessing things form the OME login page or displaying images.
The error is transient, if I retry 3-5 times, then the function succeeds.

Configuration error? Postgres problem?
Can you point me in the right direction?

P.S: The platform is Linux x86_64 with OME 2.6.1 and here is one complete message:
Error serving OME::Web::GetGraphics: DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR:  current
transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block
