<div>Hi, </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>this is because when Project or Dataset are created still as user root not as another user (you do not sudo). Client display will only show it in the root user tree or when you display all data within the group. Always check ownership field on the metadata
panel. The only difference is when Dataset is linked to the Project owned by another user, dataset will be owned by root user but visible under the another user hierarchy because of the link.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>If you really want to create Projects and Datasets as someone else you need to use command line: </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span style="color: rgb(20, 20, 20); font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size: medium; line-height: 14px; ">bin/omero —sudo login</span></div>
<div><span style="color: rgb(20, 20, 20); font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size: medium; line-height: 14px; "><br>
</span></div>
<div>allows to create a connection as another user in general then you can create the new hierarchy really owned by another user</div>
<div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>
<div>Kind regards</div>

<div><br>
</div>
<div>I have found that the root user can not create new project for another user from OMERO.web. However, the root user can create new dataset under existing projects for another user. Is this the design of OMERO? Would it be possible to allow root user to
create new project for another user in OMERO.web?</div>

<div>Thanks,</div>
