<div>Dear All,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Today we are launching 4.4.11, a bug-fixing release to address the OMERO Java Web Start issue which has been affecting some users since a recent update to Java security. This release has been code-signed by the University of Dundee, allowing Java Web Start
to be used on all supported systems without needing to override security settings.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Bio-Formats is being released to keep version numbers the same as OMERO.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Full details are available on the OMERO Github milestone[1] and the Bio-Formats Github milestone[2] pages.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The software is available from <a href="http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/4.4.11/">
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/4.4.11/</a> and </div>

<div>For information on upgrading your server, see <a href="http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/sysadmins/server-upgrade.html">
http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/sysadmins/server-upgrade.html</a>.
<b>You only need to upgrade if you need the Java Web Start fix</b>. If possible, we recommend you upgrade to 5.0.1 instead.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>As previously stated, our development focus is now on the OME 5 line, and while we will continue to support 4.4.x through 2014, we will only perform critical bug fixes on this version.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Fiji users should note that as Fiji now ships with Bio-Formats 5 by default, the OMERO.insight-ij plugin for the 4.4.x line will no longer work with Fiji. We are looking into hosting a Bio-Formats 4 update site to fix this issue, if it is a blocker for
your use of OMERO, please let us know. Note that upgrading to OMERO 5.0.1 would also fix this issue.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Kind regards,</div>
<div>The OME team</div>
