[ome-devel] OME on Holiday-- and some funding updates

Dear All-

A quick note and reminder that the OME Team will be on a much needed and deserved break from now til January 5.  We'll keep an eye (or maybe 10% of an eye) of the emails and Forums, but our ability to process, discuss and respond will be quite limited for the next two weeks.

This year has been a great one of the project- several important releases (should you care, this is all detailed at http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/about/project-history) and some major milestones- release of IDR (http://idr-demo.openmicroscopy.org), a couple of papers (http://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2016/11/24/089359; http://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2016/11/19/088740) submitted, several examples of expanded partnerships with our community, and a really exciting user meeting (http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/community/minutes/meetings/11th-annual-users-meeting-2016).  The usage of OME tools and resources continues to grow, and that's inspiring for the whole team.

As always, the funding chase continues. We've been fortunate to receive a new Wellcome Trust Biomedical Resource Award (https://wellcome.ac.uk/what-we-do/directories/biomedical-resource-technology-development-grants-people-funded), and continue to work on BBSRC- and EU-funded projects. As you can imagine have several more proposals in the pipeline, trying to deliver all the requests and needs from the community (look for requests for letters of support in the New Year!).

Thanks again to everyone who has provided feedback, sample data, support and criticism over 2016.  Best wishes from all of us and our families to you and yours.  See you in 2017!
