Dear All,

OMERO and Bio-Formats version 5.1.0-m5 are now public, see http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/5.1.0-m5/
and
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats/5.1.0-m5/ and
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats-cpp/5.1.0-m5/

This is the final development milestone we are releasing in the lead up to 5.1.0, representing the final API changes for the new 5.1.x line. It is intended as a preview of the code changes and is definitely use at your own risk. It is only intended as a developer preview to help you update your code before the final release.

Changes include:

  * implementation of OMERO.mail for emailing users via the server
  * performance improvements for importing large datasets
  * support for limiting the download of original files
  * various fixes for searching and filtering map annotations and converting between units
  * deprecation of IUpdate.deleteObject API method
  * versioning of all JavaScript files to fix browser refresh problems
  * clarifying usage of OMERO.web views and templates including RequestContext

NOTE - The stand alone importer is not currently working and this release does not include a signed version of webstart so you should not attempt to use either of these features before the public 5.1.0 release.

For Bio-Formats, there is now a separate downloads page for the native C++ implementation, support for 6 new formats and fixes for many others - full details will be announced with the public release of 5.1.0 which is coming soon.

Regards,

The OME Team
