Hi Phillip,

Our lab has implemented Metamorph STK and Zeiss ZVI readers for our
VisBio application in Java. These readers were implemented as part of
the VisAD visualization toolkit, available online including source code at:

    http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billh/visad.html

You can find the Metamorph reader in visad/data/bio/MetamorphForm.java,
and the ZVI reader in visad/data/bio/ZVIForm.java.

Also, the Metamorph STK specification is online, available at:

    http://support.universal-imaging.com/tech.cfm?T10243

We do not have access to the ZVI specification currently, but we managed
to partially reverse engineer the format to read in basic ZVI files. I
have created an ImageJ plugin using the same logic, available online at:

    http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/plugins/zvi-reader.html

If we manage to obtain the ZVI specification, I will update the plugin
as time allows.
