<DIV>Hi All,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>After almost a year, our workstations have finally come home to the Microscopy facility (MSI 1.05G). </DIV>
<DIV>Three of the SoftWorx workstations are up and running (Benbecula is having a tantrum, but we'll get Benny to have a look at it), as are the Volocity and Imaris PCs. Please let us know if you have any issues with these.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Not only that (don't get too excited!), but :</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>1. We have installed a PC where you can check the status, and set up of the microscopes in the facility on an Excel sheet (the unobtrusive monitor at the back of the room). This will be updated as and when faults are reported or fixed, or if there are any configuration changes to the microscopes. This spreadsheet is also on the LMF server in a folder called "Toolbox".</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>2. You will be able to find supplies of Lens tissue and immersion oil on the shelves: Please help yourself, and if stocks are running low, please don't hesitate to come into the office to let us know.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>3. On the shelves you will also find various microscope parts (namely; condensers, DIC parts, various specialist lenses) and user manuals that you may wish to borrow. THESE MUST BE SIGNED OUT (a folder with signing out sheets is along side) AND SIGNED BACK IN! If you borrow them, it is your responsibility to return them in one piece. If you borrow lenses to use on DeltaVisions, please remember that not all of them are appropriate for deconvolution - if you're not sure, check with us first.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>4. The door has keycode access. If it is locked, the code is CB4968.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>5. You can now follow us on Facebook - our profile is Dundee Microscopy. We are not as popular Kip Drordy yet, but we do have at least one friend!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Have fun,</DIV>
